5 silver tokens distributed on the penultimate day of the Emir’s Camel Festival

Doha, April 14 (QNA) – The annual Purebred Arabian Camel Racing Festival for the Sword of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for the 2024-2025 season continued for the 14th day. The festival, organized by the Camel Racing Committee at Al Shahaniya Racecourse, concluded tomorrow, Tuesday, with wide participation from various racecourses across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

Today’s competitions included five races for purebred camels (Al-Hilal and Al-Zamoul) over a distance of 8 kilometers during the evening session, with three races for young camels and three races for young camels. Five silver medals were awarded: three silver daggers for purebred camels and two silver shawls for purebred camels.

In the first round of the Zamoul Production, “Mublash,” owned by Hamad Jarallah Al-Buraidi, won the Silver Dagger and a cash prize of one million riyals. He finished first in the round, covering the 8-kilometer distance in a time of 12:17:63 minutes, ahead of “Rahi,” owned by Mansour Ali Al-Kutbi, who finished second with a time of 12:29:91 minutes, giving his owner a cash prize of 600,000 riyals. “Ghazilan,” owned by Abdullah Saeed Al-Marri, finished third with a time of 12:40:96 minutes, giving his owner a cash prize of 300,000 riyals. “Dhari”, owned by Mohammed Sultan Al-Kutbi, won the silver dagger and a cash prize of one million riyals, after topping the second round for Omani female camels with a time of 12:29:58 minutes, leaving the runner-up position to “Labiq”, owned by Nayef Hamad Al-Amri, with a time of 12:31:64 minutes, giving his owner a cash prize of 600,000 riyals. “Nasi”, owned by Mohammed Saif Al-Masafari, came in third with a time of 12:36:88 minutes, giving his owner a cash prize of 300,000 riyals.
